About KIIDD

The Kobilka Institute of Innovative Drug Discovery (KIIDD) was established at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) on April 10, 2017. It is named after Professor Brian Kobilka, one of the Nobel Laureates in Chemistry, 2012. KIIDD has recruited a group of scientists/researchers with a broad range of expertise to construct a vibrant environment where close collaboration among research groups is possible. In addition, the KEMC in institute serves as a facility center for cryo-EM studies at Shenzhen. With regular training in cryo-EM operation and structure determination, a bench of young generation was well trained in the field of structural biology. Currently, the research carried out at KIIDD includes structural and functional studies of proteins involved in broad range of human diseases and related searching for drugs with virtual screening, and so on.

About KIIDD Symposium 2023 CUHK-Shenzhen

October 25th - 27th, 2023 Shenzhen, China

We are delighted to announce the upcoming KIIDD symposium 2023 scheduled to take place from October 25th to October 27th, 2023, in the campus of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen), hosted by The Kobilka Institute of Innovative Drug Discovery (KIIDD) in School of Medicine (MED).

The Kobilka Institute of Innovative Drug Discovery (KIIDD) was established at CUHK-Shenzhen on April 10, 2017. It is named after Professor Brian Kobilka, one of the Nobel Laureates in Chemistry, 2012. KIIDD has recruited a group of scientists/researchers with a broad range of expertise to construct a vibrant environment where close collaboration among research groups is possible. In addition, the cryo-EM center in institute serves as an open sharing platform, which houses two ThermoFisher Scientific Titan Krios operated at 300 keV each equipped with a Gatan BioQuantum GIF/K3 direct electron detector and Volta phase plates, as well as one ThermoFisher Scientific Talos 120c operating at 120 kV.

The KIIDD symposium 2023 will bring together leaders/researchers in the field of structural biology of important therapeutic targets. The symposium will feature presentations from early-career to established researchers in different structural biology areas including neurobiology and neurodegenerative disease, cancer, infection and immunity and so on.

The KIIDD Symposium 2023 welcomes researchers, academicians, industrial experts, and students to participate in this intellectually stimulating event. With insightful presentations and wonderful poster sessions, participants will have the opportunities for knowledge exchange and collaboration. We extend a warm invitation to all interested parties to join us at the symposium in the campus of CUHK-Shenzhen, with the mission to cultivate innovative talents with a global perspective, Chinese cultural traditions and social responsibilities.

We look forward to your enthusiastic participation in this prestigious event!
