Asuka Inoue

Dr. Inoue received his B.S. from The University of Tokyo in 2004 and his M.S. from the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, The University of Tokyo, in 2006. During his doctoral studies he joined the faculty of the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tohoku University, in 2008, where he subsequently built his research program and was promoted to a tenured professorship in 2022. Since 2024, he has held a joint appointment at Kyoto University. His research addresses signal transduction by G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), the largest family of drug-targeted membrane proteins, combining protein engineering, cell-based assays, and designer GPCR transgenic mice. He collaborates widely with international research groups and has authored more than 250 publications.
